Technical support and updates are vital considerations when choosing a payroll system, and Ace Payroll provides a range of support and update options for users. The Help Desk is staffed during business hours (8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday), but because small business don't always keep standard office hours, the Help Desk is often staffed outside these hours and cellphone support is available 24/7 every day of the year.

Purchasers are entitled to 6 months 0800 support  via their  Help Desk number (0800) 223 729. For most users, this gives adequate time to become familiar with the package, and have most questions answered.

Once the free support period has expired, users can receive ongoing support by any one of the following methods:-

By taking out a support contract, which offers unlimited access to Ace's toll free support line, free automatic issue of upgrades, and priority access to the Help Desk
By calling 0900 ACEPAY. Calls cost $2.25 per minute and are charged to the callers telephone account. Any software upgrades will need to be purchased separately.
